Closer than ever,
we skate around reality.
This time, it’s
longer than usual,
deeper than usual,
as perfect as ever.
Inspired luck, maybe?
It’s real.
I still tell myself,
don’t breathe in too deeply, or it could go away.
Freezing on the outside, toasty warm inside.
Nuisance hair.
There’s no one crazier.
Woah.
Spinning…
And my imagination gets more and more creative.
What really happened?
Now the emptiness is stronger.
But some things don’t change.
Like the hum of
your perfect-pitch love.
Like the words tumbling out in chaos
wrapping all around us.
Like falling dimples,
to be kissed back into place.
Like my problems,
filling in the empty space.
Like dry fear consumed by
reassurance.
And the choices we’re facing
when time is slowing and racing.
Two hands waltzing,
One heart laughing,
Two old souls,
One captivating.
